Alan and Mary Jo Lincoln Scholarship
AFRICAN AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS
We are offering a $1,000 scholarship to graduating African American High School Seniors who will be attending College/University or Trade School full-time in the Fall of 2025.
Criteria for Consideration:
-African American HS Senior graduating in 2025
-Have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA
-Be involved in school activities and community service
-Plan to enroll as a full-time student at a College/University, or trade school during Fall 2025
Interested Applicants Must Submit the Following by June 22, 2025:
-A completed application form
-Two (2) letters of recommendation: one (1) from a school official (teacher, counselor, administrator) and one (1) from a mentor/community organization (mentor, coach, pastor, boss/supervisor).
-School Transcript: This MUST include first-semester SENIOR YEAR grades (a separate senior year report card can be submitted IN ADDITION to the transcript if necessary).
-An essay of at least 500 words on the following theme: “Race relations in my hometown.” You can address your personal experience, an historical perspective, or both.
The winner will receive their scholarship in the Fall of 2025 after submitting proof of full-time enrollment in a College/University or Trade School.
INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS AND/OR APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET THE REQUIRED CRITERIA WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
